Democracy was hard at work at UCSI University, at Kuala Lumpur, on 12 June 2009. Presidential election was being held simultaneously on campus. Stephanie Liew Sze Wei and Pang Huai Yi stepped down as the Student Council president and Deputy President after a year’s service. It was time for new faces to take over the reins. Two teams which is Team A fielded by Angala Henry Tonye, a 3rd year Nigerian engineering student, to run for President. Team B fielded Faculty of IT and management students, Simon Goh Wai Kit and Kendrick Ng to run for President and Deputy President Post respectively.
Team A fielded by Henry and Jessie won the election garnering 56% percent of the votes. (Congrats team A!! ) They received their letter of appointments from Vice President of student Affairs, Mr. Moses Ling. In his acceptance speech, Henry thanked the student for putting their faith in him.
